A hike to Kotor Fortress.

One very enticing thing to do in Kotor is to hike to Saint John’s Fortress. It is also known as the Castle of San Giovanni. A total of 1355 steps, providing mesmerizing scenes of Bay of Kotor. Through the halfway, you will be able to have a view of the Church of Our Lady of Remedy.

This hike is preferred in the morning for better picture results. It takes about 40-45 minutes to reach the top and for the ones stopping continuously for taking pictures, it takes about 2 hours. An alternative known as the Adder of Kotor is available. If this is not zealous enough for you, you can cycle the mountain too. 

Do not miss the Farmer market.

If you are hungry or looking for a snack, then Kotor Farmer’s market is there. As from the name, one would expect it to only have vegetables and fruits but you can also find local fruit vines, dried figs, olives, fish, cheese, etc. it is located under a section of the Old city wall. Timings are from 0700 hrs. to 1400 hrs. 

Visit the old City Walls.C

One of the fascinating experiences is to look down from the Bay of Kotor from Kotor Fortress. The walls of the mountains at night when they are lit up are so mesmerizing to look at.

The waterfront area which is located outside the Gurdic Bastion is the best spot for viewing the light-up city walls. Galion restaurant is reached if the parking lot is followed after exiting the gate. The restaurant’s patio has the most amazing view in town.
