Things you need to know about Blue Cave Bisevo before making a trip

Bisevo is an island in Croatia present in the Adriatic Sea. If you are looking for some sailing holidays to soothe and relax your mind and body, then the cruising experience of the Adriatic cruises will be one of the memorable experiences of your life.

Apart from the experience, if you want to make your tour even better then you can look for private charter and luxury cruising.

The amazing thing is that Bisevo can provide you with all of these luxury experiences in the Mediterranean. There is a lot more to know about the Bisevo and its world-famous Blue Cave, here we have discussed all about it.

What is Blue Cave Bisevo and what are the main attractions of this place?

As the name suggests, the main attraction of this place is the color. But where does the magic come from? The blue cave presents a very attractive sight to the eyes because of its unique environment. It is all because of the sun rays and the eroding of limestone at that place.

A little insight into the history of this place.

This was a place that was discovered by the locals in the 1880s, but the place was never disclosed by the locals and it was kept as a secret. One of the reasons might be that this place had no discrete entrance. It was only accessible if someone was able to dive through that was considered to be a very dangerous thing to do.

So, after some time there was an opening made that is now used by people to visit this place. Although the opening is not very wide and tall, it is only able to let small boats pass through.

What is the optimal time to visit this place?

An interesting thing is that you cannot enjoy this place during the whole day. It is because the appearance of this place is only because of the magic of nature. The sun rays do the magic from 11 am to noon and this is considered to be the best time to visit this place.

If you are planning to visit this place at any time other than the hours mentioned above, you will not be able to gather the best experience of the place.

Swimming in the blue cave

A very interesting thing to know is that although this place was found by the people who used to dive to get in there, it is still prohibited to swim inside the cave. However, you can swim outside the cave but not inside. One of the major reasons for swimming being prohibited can be the dangerous location and environment of the cave.

So that, you can only visit the blue cave on small boats however you can come and get the boat from your small cruise ship.

Places that you must visit

While you come to Bisevo to see the blue cave, there is no returning only after visiting the blue cave. It is because there is still a lot to see still left. Here are some places that you must visit on your trip to Bisevo.

Pakleni islands

While you visit the blue cave, this is a place that you must visit if you are in a mood to relax. It is because these islands not only provide a great view of the sea, but they also have clear water, and they are also very near to Bisevo. The color of water and the sandy beach provide you the best environment to relax your way through the day.

Island Hvar

Apart from being beautiful, this is the place that will also provide a better experience for your sense of smell. This is a place that has lavender that not only makes the place beautiful and vibrant in the summer days, but it also fills the area with a sweet lavender smell.

Other than the natural benefits of this place, this is also well known for cocktail parties and yachting. So, this could be one of the best additional places to visit on your tour to Bisevo.

Budikovac Bay

On your speedboat tour to blue cave, this is another place that you cannot miss. It is because the turquoise bluish color of the sea provides a great viewing experience. Apart from the beautiful color, the main thing is that the color of water changes shades as the sun moves. That is not very mesmerizing in itself, but it is also very relaxing to look at it.

Restaurants that are worth giving a try

Konoba Tomic

This place offers a local cuisine food which will melt your hearts. This is a rustical, domestic restaurant and the food is cooked to perfection on wood fire. The lamb and fish are very good. Everything from spices and vegetables to lambs in this restaurant is homemade.

Kod Jaske

The restaurant is nice, clean, a bit old fashioned, and always filled to the brim with locals and tourists. The restaurant is a Bosnian kitchen with Bosnian soup being their specialty but that does not mean the rest of the food is a letdown. You can enjoy various kebabs, stews, and grilled meat with some homemade vine and local beer.

Darko Agroturizam

This small tavern is very popular consisting of only 4 tables. You must make reservations in advance if you want a chance to eat at this place. This place is mainly famous for its lamb – also known as peak by the locals. If you want to eat the best lamb steak of your entire life, then this is the place.
The best part is that lamb or fish whichever you have ordered will be presented to you first, so you know you are eating homegrown, healthy food.

Fun Activities to do

Apart from visiting places, there are some other things that you must do. Some of them are mentioned below.

Swim at the sand bay Porat

Although it is prohibited to swim inside the blue cave, you can still find many places to safely swim and enjoy the environment at the same time.

The Porat bay is one of the places that you can not only add as your destination to relax, but you can also swim here. The best part about this beach is that it takes only 15 minutes to come to the Porat bay from the blue cave on a speedboat.

Picnic on the Stiniva beach

Although most of the beaches are spread on their width, this is the beach that is spread on its length. When you visit the blue cave, this place can be the best destination if you are in the mood for a picnic on the beach.

The most interesting thing about spending time here is that the place is extremely beautiful because of its split-up rock design and mesmerizing color of sand.

Final thoughts

This place might seem to be small for a person who is unaware. But for professionals like us, this is a place that is a perfect tourism destination for a small cruise ship trip.

If you are ready to gather some of precious lifetime memories, we recommend that you take the luxury cruising experience by going with us.
